![]() Wolfire was not contacted by Apple in any way, nor were they informed about what would happen to customers who had purchased the pirated version. When pressed about the issue, iCoder developer Alex Matlin argued that the re-selling of the title qualified as fair-use under the open-source GPL license which the game was released under, despite the license reading: "Wolfire has allowed the data to be freely redistributed for non commercial purposes, but it is forbidden to use in any revenue generating works."ĭespite contacting Apple the day that the counterfeit was spotted, the pirated version of the game was not removed from the App Store until over a week later, by which point it had reached #60 on the Store's sales pages. While Wolfire already offered the game through the store as "Lugaru HD" for $9.99, the pirated version was listed using the previous title of "Lugaru" by an individual named Michael Latour with the developer iCoder for $0.99 (later being raised to $1.99). Shortly after the release of the Mac App Store in February of 2011, Wolfire Games reported on their blog that an effectively pirated version of Lugaru HD was being sold through Apple's service. As the game progress additional weapons become available, like sword or staff, each one with the techniques of their own. Sometimes, it stands to reason to remain undetected and sneak up on the enemies from behind taking them out one by one. The list include simple attacks, attack reversals, counter-reversals, long-range knife attack and a strong rabbit kick. The players will have access to various actions at their disposal, each one resulting in different move depending on the context in which the action was performed. The prominent feature of Lugaru is a unique combat system that takes advantage of skeleton animation in mix with rag-doll physics. ![]() The brave kung-fu rabbit will have to face wolves, bandits and even treacherous friends to fully understand what exactly is going on. ![]() At first, the task seems clear, however soon a tangled up conspiracy begins to unravel itself. His name is Turner, his wife has been killed and his only son kidnapped by a band of rogue raiders. This new combat system makes fights look and feel much more intense and believable than in any other game.In Lugaru the players takes under his control an anthropomorphic rabbit, adept of various melee and long-range combat techniques. If you try and punch an opponent and he tries to throw you over his shoulder, you can crouch to roll painlessly out of the throw. For example, if an opponent aims a roundhouse kick at Turner's head, you can crouch and then stand up under the attack to grab your assailant's leg and kick him away. Instead of relying on confusing button combinations to perform moves, Lugaru's moves are all logical and context sensitive. ![]() Lugaru's primary feature is its unique combat system. Turner takes it upon himself to fight against their plot and save his fellow rabbits from slavery. In his quest to find those responsible for slaughtering his village, he uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy involving the corrupt leaders of the rabbit republic and the starving wolves from a nearby den.
